The class meets a short walk inside the park: take the path that starts at the 77th St. and Central Park West entrance and make the first left down a steep hill and across a wooden bridge; the meeting spot is just across the bridge on the left, under a mulberry tree whose trunk is bent (and perfect for climbing!).

From the mulberry meeting place, we walk north until the path meets West Drive, which is sometimes busy with joggers and fast bicycles. We cross West Drive and walk uphill, passing a sloping lawn on the left before reaching a meadow on the top of the hill. (On some maps it's called Tupelo Meadow.) Our classroom is there, where the grass meets the wood mulch.
