SNACK DELIVERY PERSON

Brooklyn Forest School is seeking a delivery person to transport our class snack between Brooklyn and Central Park for two hours each weekday morning this fall. The deliveries will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday, starting immediately and ending December 21.
The delivery person will arrive promptly at 8:00 a.m. in Fort Greene, Brooklyn to collect a wheeled cart containing approximately 40 pounds of bread, apples and tea. They will take the subway to Central Park and deliver the snacks to teachers in two separate locations in the park. The delivery person will then return to Brooklyn by 10:00 a.m. to return the empty snack containers and the cart.
Applicants must be available each day at between 8:00 and 10:00 from now until December 21. There will be opportunities for the delivery person to continue working with us next spring and summer.
Interested applicants should be energetic, punctual and enjoy spending time outdoors. Part of the delivery will include walking the equivalent of five city blocks through Central Park rain or shine. You should also enjoy responsibility, independence and have experience improvising quickly around MTA service changes.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Reliability and punctuality
Familiarity with the train routes and streets of Manhattan
Ability to carry 40 lbs up a flight of steps
An outgoing disposition and good communication skills
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent, some college preferred
