The BIG ROCK
The class meets a short walk inside the park entrance on the southern corner of 79th St and Fifth Ave (not the northern entrance closer to the Met). From the entrance, walk straight into the park with the lawn on your left; after about 200 feet, you'll reach a fork in the road before the path winds up Cedar Hill. Our class meets there, behind the benches and under a tree beside the path.

SUMMER Classroom
From our meeting spot, we'll follow the path that winds up Cedar Hill. At the top of the hill is East Drive, a jogging and cycling road with a traffic light, where we cross and bear left toward the park's maintenance lot. Just before the lot, we turn left following the path into the forest for about 200 feet. The path inclines slightly and a small meadow appears on the left; we hold class in the shade on the far end of the clearing.

Just before the lot, we turn left following the path into the forest for about two minutes, passing two small fields before reaching a big boulder balancing atop a larger boulder. This area is our Big Rock forest classroom.
